Opportunities for serving others abound at Rockfish Church. Our Mission Ministry Team keeps us
hopping and there is always room for extra hands putting faith into action. Our ongoing projects include:
Backpacks for Kids - Supplies backpacks and school supplies to all Nelson County children beginning the
Head Start program.
Thanksgiving Boxes - Provides a full Thanksgiving meal for 30 - 40 needy families.
Care Bear Tree - Church families shop for Christmas gifts for county families identified through the
school system. Typically around 45 families are served. Contributions are also given to the Horizon House,
a day program clubhouse for mentally retarded and chronically mentally ill adults
Easter Baskets - Provides a full Easter meal for 30 - 40 needy families.
Senior Lunches - Provides a hot lunch and fellowship once a month to seniors who gather at the Rockfish
Valley Community Center. This is usually done the fourth Thursday of every month.
Wood Ministry - A large supply of firewood is gathered and kept on hand so that it can be delivered to
those who use wood for heat during the winter months.
Rebuilding Together - On the fourth Saturday in April teams tackle renovation projects at two or more
homes.
Habitat for Humanity in Nelson County
Volunteers assist the Nelson Volunteer Coalition that serves elderly citizens of the county.
Disaster teams sent to the Gulf coast.
District One Mission Trips - Each summer, we participate in trips to build homes in Reynosa, Mexico and
rehabilitate homes in Dickenson County, VA.

- Peacemaking Offering - Received the first Sunday in October on World Communion Sunday.
- Joy Gift Offering - Received on Christmas Eve
- One Great Hour of Sharing - Received on Easter

- 5 Cents a Meal Offering - Received each month on the first Sunday
- Emergency Relief Offering - To help local families - received every fourth Sunday.
