Mission:  Visitors and new members of Rockfish Presbyterian Church feel
welcome and are encouraged to become an active part of the church’s
ministry according to their inclinations and gifts.

Goals:

A.  Visitors to Rockfish Presbyterian Church are identified and welcomed.

B.  Visitors living in the RPC geographical area are encouraged to join.  Those
who express interest are provided information on how to join and
their entry into membership is celebrated.

C.  Points of entry into the life of the church are identified and new members
are encouraged to use as many different points of entry as possible.

Strategies

1.. Prepare and administer an annual budget in consultation with the  Stewardship
Ministry Team and with the approval of Session.

2. Keep Fellowship Pads supplied in the pews and see that the sheets are collected
following each service of worship.  A report of visitors is submitted to the pastor,
the secretary, and to the Newcomer’s Ministry Team.  The secretary keeps track of
attendance using the Fellowship Pad sheets.

3. A loaf of bread is delivered to first time visitors living in the area

4.  When notified by the pastor that someone is to come before Session and join the
church, the Newcomer Ministry Team is notified and a sponsor is secured to
introduce the new member and stay in touch with that new member for a period
of sixth months, checking in with them at least three times to check on how well
they are being assimilated into the church’s life.

5.  Make a monthly report to Session with recommendations as needed.

6. Recruit new members for the Newcomer Ministry Team as needed.
